Long time no post

Sorry about the lapse in posting. I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue this blog but after thinking about it I believe I do. So much to talk about but first some new goodies! I'm really excited about these new thank you cards. I sent them out for my own shower and got a great response! Super fun and cute.

Wry baby

I came across this site today, it's full of some hilarious baby clothes. If I have kids, this is what they'll wear...at least until they are out of onesies. Though, the prediction ones are pretty cute...and I'm kind of tempted to get one now...

Julien Pacaud

Humana
Geometric Parade
work for cent magazine
So I was going through some old stuff from college and I came across French artist/ illustrator, Julien Pacaud. I had completely forgotten about how stunning/beautiful his work is. His pieces are one juxtaposition after another, gorgeous colors, and sometimes a little twisted (which is always a good thing.) Definitely worth checking out if you get the chance! The site is Perpendicular Dreams

Greengrocer brown bags!

So for my own wedding I've been developing the printed material and just noticing how much brown bag material there is...and I love it! I wrapped everyone's christmas presents in it and loved the outcome so much that I guess it's carrying over to the wedding

Loving...

image from TheDieline.com
So I really want to work baker's twine in some invitation set...maybe figure out how to work it into my own...

Shop keeping

Been doing a lot of store maintenance and working on the blog lately. New work hopefully coming soon!

It's true

I wear sweatpants much more than any one person should.
I Love this card! Probably because of where I got the idea. I was sitting in the kitchen looking, bummed about something, and I started looking at a card I had made for jake...that I printed wrong.
(It opened backwards and I didn't realize until I was at his house folding it to give to him.) I was sitting there feeling sorry for myself thinking 'I can't do anything right' and the idea popped into my head. I felt much better after that.

My Wedding

Taking a break from what I make for other people.
custom stamp I had made of a silhouette of Jake and I favor bags! not entirely sure what'll go in these bad boys yet belly bands for the invites
I'm getting married this year and totally loving doing all the printed things. It's been absolutely stressful and I've learned how indecisive I can be but I still love it!
and don't think I'm going to show you my invitations yet!
They are actually getting printed right now by a letterpress studio in Portland and I cannot wait to see them!!!!

Sometimes I like to modern out- thus 'together' was born. very simple design, simple concept but very strong feel.

Birthday Sex haha...ewww

I gave this card to a friend of mine for her birthday. I think it may have grossed her out a little bit...perfect. Another friend bought this card from me. The best part? the charge for "birthday Sex" on his credit card

With these hands.

The following is the first invitation set I ever made! because it's nice to reminisce.

The old bells

I wrestled with the decision for a couple days but I decided to take this set off of etsy. It wasn't that I didn't like it but I didn't feel that it was being represented the way I wanted it to be. The gray graphic details were supposed to symbolize blind letterpress details and I felt it was just too confusing and misleading to have it up on the store like that. Someday when I have the spare change to have a letterpress run to make samples...

Scripty

I am a pretty big fan of type...a typography nerd you could say.

I miss u.

One of my favorite new cards. I love the New York subway signage and was definitely trying to channel that along with 1950's children's books. funny how those two aren't such a jump in my head

Emergency Hello!

I really like this greeting card, though it hasn't gotten the response I had hoped for. blank inside, I got kind of a kick out of it. I picture it being sent with a care package or to someone you haven't seen in a while that you usually can't live without.

boy/girl

boy/girl has been one of my favorite sets I've made. I'm a pretty big fan of silhouettes and I wanted to make some invitations that just felt 'pretty.' So I definitely upped the femininity factor on this one!
